What worries me more at this point is there are not a lot of older women, too thin or too fat, that embrace their flaws and teach by example to young girls. First of all, let me clarify, I am in no way bashing women who are small, I am talking about women in general who feel suffocated at the standards of beauty, although I only speak from a plump woman's perspective as I know not of the other. My niece, at the age of 3 does not understand why people make it a big deal that she's bigger than kids her age because at home she's beautiful and she is made to understand that her physical appearance is not her definition.
A lot of people say she just looks like you and she's gonna grow up as big as you are and I say YES to that! Much bigger than I am, but I am not talking about the physical part... She will be much bigger because she's talented, smart , she comes from a generation of so much promise and she comes from a family with women who will tell her and show her how to appreciate her body. Beauty is not a flat plane in a way that a lot of people would prefer to look at, it is a dynamics of different dimensions. Let us not hate but support each other, if there are women who have perfect bodies then let them embrace themselves, but let us not make that a reason to stop loving ours. There's no room for self-deprecation, not at this time, not ever. It is a revolution to wear you.
Please Remember:
Fall in love with yourself. You are beautiful because of who you are and not because of what people say.
XOXO
