Max Factor's Maroon Dust
I am in love with this shade from Max Factor. It mimics the shade of my lips while adding a hint of sheen that allows enough light to reflect on my lips to look plumper and thicker without looking like I had something injected on my pout. Max Factor has a line of these kinds of lipsticks that has just a perfect balance when it comes to bringing luster to the lips.
Max Factor's Pomegranate
Since I cannot rave enough about how these lipsticks have the perfect sheen then I'll talk about color. I envy girls who can easily pull off, pinks and plums on their lips. But, not until I found this shade of purple-ish/pink-ish tone from MF. It's called Pomegranate. The color is just enough in terms of brightness, it's bold but it's not loud. When I use this shade I often top it with a plum liquid lipstick from wet n' wild, but that's another blog post.
Max Factor's Ruby Tuesday
Here's another Max Factor fave, this is Ruby Tuesday and it is a very sexy red. Oftentimes when I wear red lipstick I always use a matte one, but this one again has a bit of sheen that I am starting to fall in love with. Sometimes when I wear a bright red color, I top it off with a darker shade of red to come up with a maroon color.
Maybelline's Pink of Me
I don't know why they called it pink of me when it is more on the plum shade, although it's probably because it's a cross between carnation pink and some shade of purple. This line of lipstick has really cool packaging that I totally love. If I'm not using a nude shade then this is my go to lipstick. It's amazing and I love how my lips look and it's not heavy to wear.
Rimmel's Tell no One
This lipstick will surprise you. It's has an orange shade and it looks matte when you just look at it, but the moment you wear it, it turns into something peachy and definitely not matte. Although the sheen and shine are very minimal, it doesn't have that dry coverage of a matte lipstick. I fell in love with this lippy when it didn't look like orange when I wore it, and I have always wanted to wear a peachy shade of lipstick. Oh, and it has the cutest packaging as well.
So these are my personal sheen lipstick favorites, next time I'll blog on my matte choices as well as locally made lipsticks that are really good for so much less.
